DIFFERENCE MAKERS, INC. ANNOUNCES MIAMI’S FIRST EVER EMCEE OLYMPICS

MIAMI, Florida – Difference Makers, Inc. Non-Profit Organization is proud to announce Miami’s first ever Emcee Olympics set to take place Friday April 23rd, 2010 at the Historic Joseph Caleb Auditorium, 5400 NW 22nd Ave in the heart of the Liberty City Community!  This is not your typical emcee battle.  It is destined to be a memorable competition among Miami’s most fiercest and lyrical emcees involving 3 rounds of intense FREESTYLING.

DO NOT BE MISTAKEN!

THIS WILL BE A BATTLE OF THE MINDS, NOT PUNCHLINES!

In The competition emcees will be judged based on

(1) Creativity

(2) Content: relevance to topics or situations

(3) Stage Presence

Rounds will be organized in the following manner:

PRELIMINARY LIGHTNING ROUND: 20 emcees will showcase their best material in 4 bars.

ROUND ONE: The top 10 emcees from the preliminary lightning round will advance into this round which will involve freestyling about random images displayed on a screen.

ROUND TWO: The top 8 emcees will advance into this round which will be oriented towards flowing over tempo changing beats.

ROUND THREE: The final 6 emcees will be split into groups and will be given conflict scenarios.

The last 3 standing emcees with the most points awarded by Olympic Judges will win

CASH PRIZES:

GOLD – FIRST PLACE – $500

SILVER – SECOND PLACE – $300

BRONZE – THIRD PLACE – $200

ENTRY TO THE EVENT IS $10 (OR $5 WITH 2 CANNED GOODS FOR HAITI RELIEF)

EMCEE REGISTRATION FOR THE COMPETITION IS ON SITE ONLY, 8 PM – 9 PM, AND REQUIRES A $10 FLAT RATE FROM ALL COMPETITORS!

LATE COMERS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ENTER THE COMPETITION!
